Post: Norwich NY - Questions for Landlords.

Hello BP!

First time posting and I am interested in getting into real estate more specifically becoming a landlord.

I am looking into different towns/cities in upstate NY and I keep getting brought back to one place in particular, Norwich, NY. When I went to school in upstate NY the bus would go through Norwich and I've always been very fond of the city. It's like every upstate NY town in the sense that it has a lower income base, but I still think the city has alot of potential. I know there is a hospital, community college, the Chobani yogurt exec offices along with other stores.

I am very interested to hear from any local landlords and what they think of the area? I would probably be teaming up with a property management company, and I understand the costs behind that. Any advice helps!

Thanks!

Hello, I am new to the real-estate market and I'd like some input about my proposition. Currently I am looking at an undeveloped property in upstate NY to buy and use for leisure activities (camping and skiing). Besides just using the land as a private get-away, I'd like to plant ginseng in hopes that it too will grow with my land investment.

There is one property I found online that is selling for a very reasonable price. It has been on the market for over two years and the price continues to slide down. I'd like to make a lowball offer (%50 of their original asking price) in hopes they'd accept.

Is there any information or tips users had from buying vacant land?

Thank you!
