Yeah, it's definitely crazy to think about how much things have changed with the way we buy and sell homes over the past 5 years. I think having more options for consumers from one provider makes sense for innovation that happens in the next 5.

Has anyone used Redfin Direct (redfin.com/direct)? I'm curious to hear about why people have tried it or not and whether it delivered on your expectations. I've seen posts about it before but was interested in people's latest read now that it's been out for a couple of years.

For transparency, I do not work for Redfin though am working for a competitor.

As a couple people have mentioned, you don't need a buyer's agent and you can work it to your advantage. I think it's also good to point out that the buyer's agent isn't free as you can see from @Christopher Thompson's math.

Hi All,

I'm a long-time BP lurker and excited to finally post here!

Experience: I've grown up around real estate with a realtor mom and house hacking friends, and I've been through the homebuying process in SF. I'm building Ferryhome to support homebuyers going without an agent.

Real Estate Goals: Get multiple rental properties that pays for the bills and funds other business.

Currently Seeking: To join local meetups and connect with fellow homebuyers, investors, real estate agents, attorneys, and other professionals.

Looking forward to networking with you all, and thanks in advance!

Kevin
