Thanks for all the feedback.  I think I am going to go with the Brrrr strategy in my area so I can be close to my investment.  I have a decent job now (70-80k) but will always be stuck on the night shift so my plan is to free myself using real estate.  Also I have a home now I just built with equity and kids so that kills the house hacking idea.  So I guess my goal would be to replace my income and go into real estate full time if possible.

Im new to real estate investing and have read a couple books and been hanging out on bigger pockets.  I have around 80k to invest in cash and was wondering if I could get some input.  I would like to do buy and hold real estate.  It seems alot of goals are to start with a few properties then size up to a bigger one.  With that said should i go with a bigger property put 20% down and be in the 300k range or do i start with a smaller investment, rehab, rent, and refinance using the brrrr method.  I am set on the buy and hold type investing but just not sure which way to do it.  Also I am located in upstate NY Albany area.

Hi, Im new to investing and have some money to get started with in the form of stocks from a company buyout. I know there will be a tax penalty for taking the money out but I am already invested in the stock market and am looking to diversify.  I am looking for a cpa in the Albany NY area that can help.  Any advice would help. Thanks
