Depends on the system you’re using, most should have wifi remote accessories. I have in all my pool properties (pentair or iAquaLink). Great if you plan on using pool heating as an optional upgrade

Sounds like Outdoorsy / RV rental. There’s a pretty robust community on Facebook for hosts doing this. They have a revenue estimator tool you can use as a starting point https://www.outdoorsy.com/list...

I've been exploring the same for my location SoCal beaches. Keith I think your concerns are all valid for an RV/trailer rental business where the uninitiated are taking it out on the road (outdoorsy). Mike, it sounds like you were thinking more of trailer as a stationary STR rental right?

I prefer to inform them. You may not have to, but it can be beneficial to have a ally o nearby in case a need arises. We have one neighbor who gave heads up about a big party starting to form before noiseaware or other signals notified us. For only the occasional bottle of wine investing in the relationship as been a great ROI.

Mardochee, I live in Torrance but operate elsewhere in the state. It’s a good centrally located area as you mentioned. Beaches, LAX, DTLA, Disneyland, Port of Long Beach... however your acquisition costs can be very high depending on the type of property you’re targeting. Single families will approach $800-1M. Do your returns can be better elsewhere.

Agree with your POV Collin however, it many cases you’ll be trading Airbnb/VRBO platform fees for Google/Facebook CPC/ROAS marketing fees. If you factor ~3% Credit Card processing and the cost to drive (efficient) traffic it might not look so bad. Adjust your pricing to compensate, demand is high right now. In my W2 I run large marketing and e-commerce budgets. It’s no different than deciding to do Amazon only, your own website or a hybrid. Fully owning your own destiny is huge, but it’s a definitely not cheap.

Sounds like you have stumbled into a bonus Airbnb Zoo experience opportunity. All Kidding aside, that sucks, and ya, I would investigate pursuing the legal route.

As always, it depends. Where are you? And who is your target market. I tend to like Kings (vs queen) if the room size can take it, then twins or bunks in the 3-4th bedroom in my Coachella valley properties

10-15k for a 3 or 4 bedroom home with yard/pool.
