It is fantastic to see how BP creates real communities all around the world @Erwin Groenendijk !

I did transfer my part of the company to my partners because I came to the US to do my MBA, it was fantastic, and Spain can be very fun to invest in if you have the relationships - that was our edge.

Our experience was that commercial brings you more "serious" tenants, and for mid-market deals, it definitely saves a lot of headaches. However, it tends to be a very unprofessional market with many players that talk but do not act.

What are you guys focusing on? How did you end up in Barcelona?

I am on the same boat @Cynthia Wright , it would be great to get a recommendation.

I saw on https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/21/topics/307722-looking-for-property-manager-durham-nc a recommendation for a company but looking forward to hearing more

Hola @David Fernandez ! I am from Barcelona too, small world.

Very interesting to hear your story and thanks for the suggestions.

You are correct, I have to be cautious with which markets I get into, but as of today I am still analyzing options and not set with just one.

Regarding NC, I like universities as an anchor of value for a location. NC has some fantastic schools in a very concentrated fashion, so I want to go an take a look.

Un saludo!

Is there a reason why you didn't already start investing in Spain? A lot of opportunities there too.

Erwin

Hi @Erwin Groenendijk! I did work in RE in Spain actually, at the bottom of the financial crisis I started an investment advisory firm and we focused in commercial.

For my next stage, I want to do multifamily and I do not see the appeal to do it in Spain right now (laws clearly favor the tenant and can make your life quite hard as a landlord).

Are you currently investing there?

Hello BP!

This is Kevin, from Spain but living in NY state. My girlfriend and I are fully committed to starting investing in 2018, and I hope to be able to share our, let´s hope successful, story very soon.

Currently, I am reading as much as I can and listening to several podcasts. I am flying to NC in two weeks to start checking property managers with whom to create a relationship and see if that is an attractive market for us.

All the best,

Kevin
