@Brian Varmuza

Thanks for the reply! I have family in real estate that I can fall back on for any training gaps and have been along for the ride for some transactions. I think I'd probably lean more towards less training and keeping more of my money. I am taking a good look around the area to see what's out there.

@Lana Efremova

Thanks for the reply! Did you work with one in your area or remotely? What type of marketing did you succeed with the most?

@Tom Parris

Thanks for the reply! I have heard that it can take a while to get going in real estate and had planned my finances conservatively for that. I'm looking at joining teams rather than going at it alone, which I think would set me back. I hadn't considered becoming a property manager. Do you know how I might go about that? Seems like most postings for a property manager require some type of experience.

I'll keep looking through brokerages. I have family in real estate so I feel like I can fall back on them to fill gaps on any training. It is definitely a process!

@Amber H.

Thanks for reaching out! To clarify, I was in Tallahassee attempting to wholesale alone. I did bandit signs, got some inquiries, even started to put three deals together which fell apart. Then I got a job in Tampa and moved down here. So, it wasn't the wholesaling that didn't work, just my circumstance! I would like to pursue wholesaling (or any avenue which can help a newbie get going!)

I'm curious as to where the best place to hang my license would be. I'm particularly interested in real estate investing and want to become one myself one day. Are there any specific brokerages in the area that would help with that?

I'd be open to joining a team as well. I'm just hungry to get the ball rolling!

Hello Bigger Pockets Community!

My name is Kevin Dehlinger. Currently, I am in the process of getting licensed. I've lived in Florida my entire life (Panhandle ---> Tallahassee ---> Tampa). I have been interested in real estate investing since my time in Tallahassee, even going as far as doing some marketing and attempting to wholesale houses on my own, but to no avail. Alas, I had discovered a passion of mine in the process ... real estate!

After getting burnt out at a corporate job, I've decided to pursue real estate full-time. I felt like it was time to stop ignoring my true calling. I'm very excited to get started.

I look forward to meeting all of you in the forums!
