You found a great resource as we are all here to give back and help out :) We are buy and hold investors who self manage from afar. We have built a business model that lets us do this while working full time. We also buy houses from across the country so I know what you are going through! I am in the process of buying a house I haven't even seemed. Although I know that area very well as I own 2 other houses in that area.

We are about 10 years behind you. Our goal is to use the cash flow to fund early retirement in 15 years when my husband retire from the navy (god/navvy willing!). Definitly check out the podcasts/forums and blog articles. There is so many different ways to be successful and all of us have carved out our own niche. If you find yourself saying "I agree" with this post to yourself. Check out their signature. Many of us including, myself have blog/websites with extensive materials on our "niche". So this is a great additional resource. Like you needed more :) lol!

Thanks James, My friend recently purchased in Lithonia GA. I was looking in Sandy Springs GA due to my wife possibly looking at a future job offer. Truthfully looking at a couple states, Florida, Orlando area is another.

Hi everyone, my name is Kevin Darrell and i'm from Long Island, New York. I initially came upon Biggerpockets.com while trying to find some background on a company called Strongbrook that a family member approached me with. I then found a wealth of information Biggerpockets. My wife and i always had a goal to purchase a few properties that would produce residual income and supplement our retirement (I'm about 5 years away from retirement). A friend recently purchased an investment property in Georgia and suggested i look into that area due to pricing and the fact that we have family in Georgia and plan to relocate down there after i retire. While i was checking out properties online i requested more info on certain properties and have been in contact with a real estate agent who sends me properties that fit my search criteria and was planning on taking a trip down in the near future to look at some properties. That is where i am in the process, as i stated i am new to investing and i am glad to have come upon this site.
