I started in NYC. The Bronx. First house hack. Bought a 2 family with a basement. Rented out the 1st and 2nd floors. Live in the basement. Very expensive part of the Bronx.

I would say I would have started in South Carolina if I had to do it over. Much cheaper and more bang for your buck.

I’m a plumber from NY and there is no way 100 gallon will suffice such a big building.

The best thing to do is contact your local plumbing supply and they will be able to assist you in what size tankless instant hot water heater to get.

I have a 2 family and I went with a combi boiler. Hot water and heat together.

Also check to see if you do have the little heaters under the sink or in the ceilings that heats up the water.
