Why didn't the deal go through? Was it on your side or was it on the seller's side?

I think it is easier to find a deal if you are house hacking since your deal doesn't need to be a home run; it just needs to be better then the alternative (paying rent).

To be completely honest the loan officer never clarify why I got pre approved for 300K and when i got into a contract for 268k and we were ready to close they said I was 800dollars off. It seems like the lender didn't recognize my work overseas and I only had 1 year and half of US working record. It was odd for them as I has long term jobs os a seafere working for overseas companies (I'm not a US citizen) they didn't know how to deal with it, it took too long and then I could find a property that worked.

Hello everyone,

Looking into duplexes to buy as first-time buyer in the south Florida area. Tried last year but the deal didn't go through. Now im ready to go again.
