Thank you, everyone, for being so kind and welcoming me to BP! I can already tell that I made the right decision by signing up to BP and there is an abundance of knowledge I can gain from each and everyone's experience. I have written these next paragraphs to answer some of the questions and share a little more about what I'm doing so far in order to start prepping.
First, I have been devouring the BP podcasts daily. Also, I have been keeping a journal with all key points/helpful hints discussed in each podcast. Furthermore, whatever material I am unfamiliar with, I have been researching and studying nightly. I have also acquired a business partner who is the brother of one of my buddies I served with overseas who has extensive experience in wholesaling, rehabbing, and flipping. His abilities and work ethic were put to the test when I gave him the job of renovating my personal single family home and getting it rent ready in the time given in which he has done a great job and his team has exceeded my expectations on their quality work. I am currently in the "earned" state of income. Hopefully, in the near future I can begin the "Passive" state of income.
Immediately after my separation from the military I worked a construction and landscaping job as a laborer for several months until I obtained my clearance to work as an overseas contractor. I chose to do this because I made up my mind that this was the career field I wanted to start dabbling in so I figured what better way to gain knowledge then work from the bottom and learn how things are down. While on the job sites, I met many laborers and spoke to several of the ones that seemed to be the most motivated to grow and began to network so that one day whenever I had the capital to start making moves, I would be able to. I still keep in contact with them.
I am a 30 year old single male with no children and the only bills I currently have is my mortgage which Is paying for itself because my house being rented. Working overseas has been a blessing because I have absolutely no costs of living and I'm doing OK financially. Not to mention I just got a promotion. YAY!!!!! So in the meantime, I am continuing my education to finish my degree (FEB2016), listening to the BP podcasts, and acquiring the reading materials that are being recommended to me. Eventually, once I figure out what location(s) I want to work in I will get my real estate license for it/them.
As for the areas I am looking into, I have several in mind because I have lived in these locations but I really need to do more research before I come up with a final decision.
