For me, it would depend on the quality of the building. If there is no significant delayed maintenance, why not? Looks like a reasonable deal especially if you can increase those rents. But if utilities are old and roof is iffy, I'd pass. My 2c.

I'm looking for a handyman/contractor recommendation for the Cincinnati area. I'd be starting off with a few small jobs but with the potential to do major renovations on 5 units.

Hi Hiro! I'm in the same boat. I'm in Cincinnati, new to REI. I'm about to close on my first multifamily, if all goes well! Hopefully we both can make good connections on BP and in Cincy/NKY.

This property is likely gone-- but it doesn't hurt to check. Has it been sold?

Well, I found a great one-- too bad the house itself was disappointing.

I got a couple quotes for a home inspection on a duplex in Cincinnati OH. The differences in price were more than 50%. For example, one was about 430 and the other, 700. From what I can tell, they're both reputable, but the less expensive one is from a franchise and I probably could get one of several inspectors. The other is one person who runs his own company who does all the inspections. Thoughts on if I should go for one or the other?

Alternatively, anyone got any recommendations for a home inspector in Cincinnati?

Thanks Jake-- great insight. Good luck with the new place! I'll look into those programs.

Hi All--

I'm getting started in Cincinnati, OH. Looking for a multifamily place so I can downsize into a unit and still have a little income. Having a hard time knowing which neighborhoods to get into and whether paying for the nicer place is worth it, with less cash flow. Any advice would be appreciated.
