Congrats on jumping in! For my 1 rental, the tenants send me a personal check. Fortunately we have not had any issues. This is a class B property and tenants screened very well. Their initial payment of first and last months rent plus security deposit was via a cashiers check. I wouldn’t accept a personal check for the initial funds.

Hey Everyone, I’m Kelly Iannone from Central Florida. I currently own one SFH rental that was previously my primary residence. I work full time in Hotel Forecasting & Finance. RE investing is a relatively new dream as I was taught in my formative years to work hard for the “man” and max out your 401k to reach financial independence while my husband was raised in a more real estate minded family, so we make a good mix. We are currently in the knowledge seeking and capital building phase with the goal of acquiring our next rental property in late 2019 or 2020. I look forward to learning, sharing, and building a network here on BP.

I find the county property appraisers website to be very helpful for owner (or trust) and current address then google search from there. Good luck.
