@Kiera Underwood I will add Oklahoma to my radar.  I lived in the Dallas area for a long time, but only managed to visit OKC and Tulsa a few times.  I would definitely like to know more about potential markets.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Jake. I would like to start out with SFH rentals, but I am keeping an open mind as to other avenues for investment as well. I would not rule out the Seattle area for my initial purchase, and I am continuing to educate myself on other strategies aside getting a conventional loan with 20% down. Thanks for the suggestions of Wenatchee and Spokane. I will investigate those areas for potential properties.

Greetings, Bigger Pockets! My name is Keith Stubbs, and I have finally decided to introduce myself and take the next steps to becoming an active investor after browsing this site for several years. I am a licensed professional civil engineer, but left my job last year to pursue a career change after 20 years in the industry. I am currently interested in buy and hold SFH properties and have a goal to purchase my first investment property by the end of 2020. I live in Seattle, WA, but would like to investigate other less expensive markets across the country. I would like to connect with other investors in the Seattle area, as well as any potential markets that I may target for my first property.
