@Jason Hamilton Nice. I spent some time in Sunset beach on a golf trip. Very nice area. Yes, we too are looking at increasing our investment in vacation properties. My family loves to travel and we hope to leverage our knowledge of what families need in a vacation rental. However, I don’t want our next property to be a new build. I want something I can fix up.

@Joe Prillaman I’m not aware of an assessment. We aren’t on a canal but we are on the Marsh so we were required to put in a bulkhead. We chose pvc sheet piles so it should last a long time. Probably something the next owner or my kids will have to worry about :). We will have to replace the wood at some point. I see your in carolina beach. How are things going there for you.

Just wanted to say Hi and I look forward to learning and growing with you all. Recently Relocated from Columbus, Oh to Raleigh, NC. We are in the middle of building a beach rental in Holden beach, NC. Hoping to having it setup for July/Aug rentals. Thanks for having me!
