Post: Multifamily: Buying Vs New Construction as a FirstTime Home Buyer

Hello! I was curious to ask, in a seller's market as this (Currently 2021) with inventory being purchased and sold off at higher market prices, would it be a good investment move as a first time home buyer to find and purchase land and then develop a multi-family home on the property? Then, in time, develop more units on the property?
What would be your overall thoughts and the best process to go about it?
With gratitude!

My name is Keion Embry (or Kei for short) and I am a new member to the site.
Briefly, I wanted to reach out and connect with you all as I have heard great and humbling things about the community.
A bit about myself and my interests: I am an aspiring REI from Atlanta, GA with a multitude of focused skills; including copy writing, intermediate marketing, product development, website customization, graphic design, video editing and audio mixing/ editing.
Currently, I own and operate a company where we connect and develop web based solutions. Prior, I worked in the music and multimedia industry as a Lead Audio Engineer and Audio Editor for audiobooks. I am also in the final prelaunch stages of a new cleaning product line for the home that is green, safe and eco-friendly.
With all of that said, this is how I currently generate cash flow, but would like to grow into REI so that I can (one day) focus on developing more products and platforms to aid others in their lives and spend time with family. Strongly, in time, I feel as though REI is the way to go for the future which brings me to my real estate interest which include: BRRRR, House Hacking, Stack, Development and Commercial REI.
Truly, it is great to be here among you all and if there is any value that I may add to you and the community, please feel free to guide me to do so. I am looking forward to connecting with you and learning from you all!
Best wishes and happy Investing!
