Curious is anyone has any tips for STRs in Spartanburg. I checked the city's website and couldn't find any information on permits or anything like that. Does this mean you can just buy a house and start renting it out?

Thanks in advance!

I live nearby in Greenville. Never considered doing this in Spartanburg with any of my current LTR's and Greenville already has rules against it. Why are you wanting to do this in Spartanburg?
I had been looking at pursuing rental properties in Greenville noticed they had rules against STRs within city limits. I figured Spartanburg would be a good alternative.

Was I misunderstanding Greenville's website? What does owning rental properties there look like?

I am starting out in the STR business. As I am assessing properties I have become curious what the pros and cons of STRs are compared to Airbnb.

I would appreciate any info one way or the other. Thank you!

Hello Bigger Pockets community!

I currently have one duplex in PA but am interested in expanding to different states. I have heard South Carolina is a good place to start, but am curious what specific markets are best. I am looking to buy multifamily properties with little to no renovations needed. Would love any input!

Thank you!
