@Jason Taylor

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll shoot her a line today and give you a message when we're headed out that way. What kind of investments do you do in the area?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are flippers from the west coast who are looking into other Canadian markets. We're headed out east in the next couple of weeks and I'm wondering if anyone in Ottawa has any recommendations for an investor friendly agent that I could chat to? Also, if there are any people doing fix and flips in the market (or BRRR), I'd love to hear how you're finding it and perhaps meet for a coffee or beer when we're in the city

Hi everyone,

I am an investor in Vancouver BC, and am looking for recommendations for a mortgage specialist here. So far, all of my deals have been privately financed. I have a recently formed company and expanding options on the horizon, so I would like to talk to someone who works with investors and find out what I can expect from traditional lending.

@Mark Locki I can't make it tonight, but would definitely be interested if there's another meet-up being planned.

Hey everyone,

I've been a townhouse/apartment flipper in Vancouver, BC the last few years. Since that market is in flux (with a good chance of a decent decline), I'm taking some time to explore other markets in addition to Vancouver.

As a result, I'm back on bigger pockets to explore what real estate opportunities we're seeing in Canada. I'm primarily interested in BRRR these days but I'm just generally wondering how my fellow Canadian investors are making a buck.

I'm planning a trip to Montreal, Ottawa, and Edmonton in the near future to see what sort of prospects exist in those cities. If there are any investors or agents in those markets that have any insights, I would like to connect and talk about what's working now and what's coming next.

Also, if anyone in Vancouver wants to meet up and chat about this or any other market, I'd certainly be interested.

Hi folks,

My partner and I have done a couple of flips and are looking to expand our operations. We're interested in doing more townhouses and condos (strictly because of affordability).  We've done most of the work ourselves to this point and have gained a good amount of knowledge as a result.

Obviously the market in the Vancouver area is white hot right now and competition is intense.  As a result, we're looking to expand the neighbourhoods in which we're searching and even the type of properties we'd consider. Heck, we've even discussed moving  east or going down south to try and get more deals and make use of the money we've earned.

I'm curious if there's anyone in this community that knows of a good agent in the Vancouver area or have an idea of an area to investigate? My main focus is to talk to more people in the community and attempt to grow my pipeline of deals as much as possible. I feel that the more good agents that I talk to, the more likely I am to have a steady stream of opportunities.

I'm aware it's a fairly broad question but I'm kind of throwing it out there as a way to foster discussion and perhaps meet some new people, partners, and projects

Cheers,

Cameron

Hello, I am just wrapping up a fix and flip in Burnaby, BC, Canada, and am looking to invest in multi-family buy and holds. After some searching, Washington state seems like a good place for me to make this transition, but this would be my first real estate purchase outside of Canada, so I am looking for any information or advice on purchasing US real estate as a Canadian where financing is concerned. I don't mind leaving a percentage in the deal but I'm curious how big that percentage would be for a canuck like me

Thanks,

Cameron

Hello, I have just wrapped up my latest fix and flip in Burnaby, BC, Canada, and am aiming to get into multi-family buy-and-holds (new territory for me).  Washington state seems like a good place to make this transition, and I'm interested in connecting with professionals and investors that are knowledgable about the market there. I haven't made a trip south of the border to start looking yet, but am planning to soon, and would like to hear which areas I should be honing in on.

Thanks,

Cameron

@Kris Mcfarlane that's really interesting Kris, thanks for the info.

What level of expenses are you seeing on one of these properties? I suppose this is at least halfway an appreciation play for you and you're setting aside a percentage of profits for capex. I haven't been to that part of Chilliwack. I'll have to go out for a bit of a scouting mission in the next bit. Speaking of Mission, do you ever consider investing on that side of the river?

@Kris Mcfarlane I'm really interested in your area (for the exact reasons you give- close to home, etc) What kind of properties are you finding that cash flow decently out there? I've been looking at single families and everything under $400K seems like the kind of thing that would bring under $1500 in rent.
