Post: Air Conditioner Freon Line Cut

I purchased a home a few months ago and a tenant moved in last weekend. The tenant complained that the A/C would not turn on so I sent out our maintenance guy to check it out. He informed us that the freon line was cut. A few months ago, a neighbor told me that there were a few A/C condenser units stolen in the area. I suspect that the thieves tried to steal my unit. Now I'm out of $700 in fixing it. Does anyone know what I could do to prevent this from happening again? The unit already has the black security bars around it, which I believe prevented it from being stolen. Is there and type of security I could purchase to protect the lines being cut? Thank you all!

Correct, we fully intended to live in the home. Unfortunately, my husband's job is requiring him to stay in L.A. for a few more months due to COVID.

Yes, I still live in Los Angeles. I plan to manage the property remotely with some help from our realtor.

Hello everyone, I'm excited to make my first post on this forum, as I've been visiting this site for quite some time!  The property we purchased is in 32208 and has 2 prong outlets throughout the home. Our home inspector discussed with us that the outlets were ungrounded and recommended that we upgrade them. I called an electrician who quoted $1700-$2500 to upgrade the circuit breaker to GFCI and then replace the outlets.

Is there a cheaper option? Can I hold off on this repair for now and just purchase some 2 to 3 prong adapters for each outlet?

Electrician recommendations welcome : )
