Quote from @Brandi Jefferson:

Hi! I am Brandi. Been listening to bigger pockets for about a month now (literally everyday, at every moment I have spare time LoL) and am learning a lot. I have been interested in real estate investing for a long time, but never really had the community, capital, or understanding of how. I've dabbled in learning different areas before, but never been focused. I want to change that this year. Throughout my back and forth with real estate, I've always come back to small multifamily properties. To me, having one mortgage payment for 2 - 4 houses (basically) always seemed interesting and like something that would give me more bang for my buck.

After listening to hours of the different BP podcasts, I decided to just go ahead and join so I can have more community for guidance and learning and moving towards my first deal. I have a goal of purchasing a small multifamily this year, so I want to start making the steps to make that happen. Glad to be here and cant wait to network and learn!

 I'm in the same boat as you Brandi! Nice to meet you I'm almost halfway through "The book on rental property investing" by Brandon Turner and it's really open my eyes to real estate!

Hi @Travis Tamillo,

I am soon to be active duty in the Marine Corps and am very impressed by the 13 units you were able to close in your first year!

I am hoping to build a real estate portfolio while active duty and would love to connect with you!

Hello Health! Thank you so much for your response!

I haven't thought as far ahead as looking at potential areas to buy property. I know for the forseeable future I will be based in Quantico, Virginia but I am definitely open to out of state investing! Would it be possible to connect to discuss more about the process of purchasing property as a military investor?

@Heath Sizick

Sorry, forgot to mention you in my response!

Welcome to Bigger Pockets! And congratulations on your last semester, and thank you for joining the military and serving our country!

This will be the best platform to educate yourself on investment strategies. I would also join your local Facebook pages for investors.

I currently work with investors building their portfolio with Turn Key investments. I'd love to connect and talk about your overall goals.

Hi Meghan,

I would definitely like to connect with you. Thanks!

Hi!

I joined this group about a year ago and have had an on and off interest in real estate investing since then, but this year I really want to learn as much as I can before I become active duty military in July.

I'm in my last semester of college, so at this point I'd just like to learn as much as I can and network. I hope to buy a property in 2026. Let me know it you want to connect! I am especially interested in talking to any active duty military that might be in community.

Hi Jonathan! I am also a college student looking to learn more about real estate. I hope to buy my own property in the next 2-3 years (maybe sooner) so let me know if you want to connect!
