I was introduced to the idea of investing when I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Initially, I was only looking for something other than romance to keep me occupied, and since I was at the library m options were endless. Anyway, fast forward 20 minutes and I am walking away with this little (to me) purple book wondering why the title is confusing....

A year later and I am working to get out of my own rat race. The biggest nugget of understanding I got out of reading RDPD is that in order to achieve your larger goals, you have to have smaller goals, and goals for those goals also. So, after making the switch from one dead end job, to another that provides more financially, I have the space to pursue real estate and still make sure that bills get paid and family is taken care of. I am very excited about BiggerPockets.com and am digging in to learn more about multi-family housing and storage.....for now :)
