Thanks everybody!!! Its so exciting actually! My hubby and I are planning on a final garage sale next weekend and out long car ride with our 2 year old and 8 month old Jun 1st now to a destination "unknown". We have lots of options, but we won't have anything solidified until we get there and start setting up camp. I will definitely reach out to all of you who currently live in MI and can give me pointers for locations and team members.....my amazing hubby qjd daddy hates spending 7 days a week away from all of his girls and we are confident this is the path to financial freedom. Its amazing how fired up with momentum you can be when you set your mind on something! I will be making a blog of our adventures and keeping you all posted as we get going here. Thanks again!

We are full-tike RVers already. So, we already are willing to sacrifice some comforts. The goal just became much bigger over the last few months. 😂

Awesome, thanks! Ya, even the listed ones don't interest me as an investor since they want more than retail price. I appreciate your imput!

Not yet. I have looked at several websites that want me to sign up with the credit repair service they are associated with that promise to send me lists of rent-to-own properties, but none of them have materialized anything real. Looking at craigslist as I get closer to the actual move.

Thanks! Passion is definitely a necessity. I have worked in Nursing and restaurants for years and never have I studied so much or tried so hard at anything. Even as a classical singer and was practicing everyday and wanting to be an opera singer, I never pushed myself the way I am now......and I certainly didn't have a toddler and 8 month old in tow as an excuse! My "Why" just got reinforced today when my diabetic mom told me she fell on the floor getting out of bed this morning due to a diabetic-related issue. I need to develop enough passive income asap in the event I need to care for my mother full-time. Right now, we have nothing but a lot of debt that is sucking the life out of my hubby. I love hearing everybody else's "why" that pushes them through the tough moments, especially in the beginning when debt is high, financing is hard and they are surrounded by negative nancies!

Thanks, I agree.....

My parents lost a vacation home through a short sale and my dad had to be an accidental landlord/handyman when my grandparents wanted to rent out their previous home to live in a new house. Lots of headaches and no education about how to do it the right way, by knowing how make money when you buy through analyzing the market trend, sub-markets, comps, etc. All I hear is "Well, you can always come back when it doesn't work out." As true as that is, I'm not banking on it not working out. I will fail as many times as I need to until I get it right. I just finished a few great books and can't wait to put their suggestions to use!

HaHa, thanks everybody (still gotta learn how to tag :-P)! I totally agree with all of your comments. I wish I coulda slipped away and became successful before they noticed we moved 2000 mi away, but that isn't reality. I actually have lived in NYC for 2 years (in 2008-09 when we were hit hard by the recession and a huge snow storm at the same time). When I was in NYC, I spent a few months in a homeless shelter surrounded by violence, pain, mental illness, theft and deplorable living conditions everywhere you turned. I was the preppy lil white girl that they thought worked there, even though I was homeless and broken like the rest of the 200 women there. So, moving to a sleepy little town in MI doesn't scare me in the slightest. I am currently working with lenders who specialize in FHA/203k loans and hope to pick up a 3 or 4 plex and house hack into our starter home by July and go from there. My husband sees my vision of success and thats what truly matters. And I love the acronyms and quotes you guys have posted!!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement!

I haven't seen my hubby so excited since I first met him and we were still in the honeymoon stage of our relationship! The idea of being able to spend one week working and 3 weeks as a Stay-at-home-dad with his girls (truly leading a kind of 4 hour work week suggested by Tim Farris) and becoming financially free within 5 years (give or take)  is a dream come true for him! We made the decision to make 2016 the best year yet, Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially. We both have lost 20 lbs and ran our first race yesterday together to signify our determination! Also wishing everyone on these boards good thoughts on your path to the best year yet on your path to financial freedom!
