Post: Discounted Rent for slab leak

At our rental property (single family) in San Diego, we have a water leak under the floor.  The flooring needs to be pulled and pipes need to be re-routed.  This will inconvenience our tenants for 1-2 weeks.  They are still able to live there and have the ability to use the water, albeit, the hot water must be turned off and on to prevent further leaking.

What would be an appropriate discount on the rent to account for this inconvenience?

Thank you in advance!

Also, I have one referral for an RE attorney but it would be great to have a a couple more.  If anyone can help out with a good CA RE attorney located in San Diego, that would be fantastic.

Thanks!

Karen

@Alex, Thanks so much. I have a friend who is an agent and I will reach out to her. I didn't know if there was something specific for FSBO's though that I could find here.

Hello all,

We are selling our home in CA.  Our tenants are interested in buying and are pre-qual'd for 1M.  Anyone know where we can obtain all the forms we need without having to pay $$ for them?  I have searched this site and saw the Real Estate Forms and Contracts but it turned up a "Page Not Found" page.

Thanks for your help.

Karen

Hello!

We are new to BP!  We live in SD and are looking to sell a home that we currently rent out (long-term, month-to-month currently).  We saw the Forbes list and Seattle was #4 so we were thinking of investing there.  Possibly interested in doing a short-term/Airbnb rental initially but wanted to know what other people's thoughts are about that.  Our rental home is at an all time high value right now and we feel the urge to sell.  However, we are not well-versed in the 1031 exchange (working on that) and don't want to make an unwise decision.

Carlos, I saw that you think SD is great and are focusing on multi-family.  Have so many questions and will check out the links that you, Dave Visaya, stated above.

Excited to be here and hoping to learn, learn, learn!!  :)
