@Chase Hoover if you buy it as a 2nd home you can put just 10% down. @Parker Borofsky posted on @Avery Carl podcast discussion board on the in’s and out’s of this. We have used this approach to acquire 1 property in all the markets we have properties in. If you and your spouse both make enough individually you could each get a loan in a single market.

@Amy Canfield

Great thread! TV’s are a big deal. To cut overhead we went to 100% streaming. Most guests are ok with it because we provide free Sling orange and blue. I have found a lot of guests really like their sports so don’t skimp on the channel lineup if you decide to go the streaming route.

Totally concur on the black washcloth hack. I get mine from Wally World.

Best of luck to you!

Hey Folks! My husband Scott and I had the honor of being interviewed by Julian Sage on the STR Success Stories podcast. We talked a lot about our experience shopping for and managing our two STR's in the smokies. Give it a listen!

Big shout out to @Avery Carl, @Luke Carl and @Parker Borofsky for all their help during the process.

I love OwnerRez...I used to hate them, but the thing that sold  me was the website integration and their awesome customer support.  They are a great value, and the implementation difficulties that made me hate them were overcome with some back and forth with their customer support.
