Ok, guys help me out!!

I found a duplex for 100,000 in NY. The comparable home prices are 665,000 for that area. It doesn't state on Trulia what problems/issues with the home. I haven't seen the property as yet. Since this is my first time investing, I am looking to rent out this property as a buy and hold. What would be my next step after viewing the property.

Thank you so much for that advice. I live in NY and the market price out here is pretty steep. So I have been looking into the PA, NJ, CT markets, there are not as cheap as Iowa. But they are cheaper than NY. What do you think?

Does anyone know the protocols of  investing outside of the US. ( I understand that each country has different laws and regulations) I wanted to know if it is more lucrative to start investing in countries such as Cuba or Thailand vs investing in the US?

Thank you so much for the info @Linval T. I just spoke to a guru and because of my financial situation and credit he suggested that I start with whole-selling. But I as I do further research on this particular niche, it seems that whole sellers only want to work with experienced investors. How do I get my foot in the door without going to the bank for a loan or a whole seller?

Hi Everyone!

My name is Kamika.  I am baby breath new to the real estate investing world. Currently in the process of getting my real estate license ( yay me!!). I am not sure what niche I should pick ( I'm leaning towards buy and hold, flipping, or both). I am also interested in international real estate investing. Lastly, the real reason for this new investment is I am tired of living a mediocre life. I know my purpose and my WHY and won't stop until I become financially free. Can't wait to network and learn from BiggerPockets!!
