Anyone care to share their thoughts about the Birmingham, AL market (specifically the "Village at Magnolia" subdivision or zip code 35405 area) for single family residences (3bd/2ba)?

Looking for any details on the rental market here, what class rating would you give this market, etc.

Thanks!

When one owns multiple rental properties, would it be recommended to have multiple checkings/savings accounts for each property or can more than one property be handled in one set of checking/savings accounts?

I understand different states may have different laws/regulations for this. In my situation, I live in Illinois but invest out of state. I am just looking for any general advice, pros/cons, thoughts, etc.

Ok, Brandon Turner has sold me on the whole house-hacking concept. I'm looking for REOs/foreclosures to do this with. Does anyone have any referrals for REO listing agents or suggested methods of finding REOs in the northside of Chicago? Any help is appreciated.

ATTN investors in the city of Chicago.  I'm looking to meetup with new or potential RE investors for general/open discussion on:

  • where they're at with their investing?
  • why they haven't started?
  • what's their biggest fear?
  • what's stopping them from investing?
  • what got them to finally pull the trigger?
  • any other topics like this.

I myself just closed on my first turnkey deal. I'm interested in finding maybe one or two other investors who are relatively in the same situation (new to REI) to have a chat. I live up on the northside of Chicago and work in River North.
