Hi All,

I have been researching buying my first vacation home in NY state. Have been searching unsuccessfully across the online platforms for deals and sometimes a realtor. I am now thinking about buying land and building new. Does anyone have bodular home / cabin builders in the new york stats area of the catskills or south.

thanks,

Justin

Hi All,

I am looking for my first STR vacation home in Catskills area. My budget is around 150k -200k. Following are some of the questions I have:

1)Is it worth buying a home or buying a lot and having a log cabin built?

2) What is the airbnb occupancy rate in Catskills area?

3)How much does it cost to make a 2 bed or 3 bed and 2 bath log cabin around 1500 sq ft?

4)any good property management companies?

Any responses would be appreciated.

I am upstate in the Margaretville, Arville, Roxbury, Andes, area most week ends, have many friends with Airbnb in the area, there are properties coming in those prices sometimes. and I know people doing Airbnb administration as well. contact me I have license upstate may be I can help you

Hi Carlos,

I saw your comment I thought I would reach out. I am beginning to research the idea of buying a vacation home that I would mainly use to rent out through online short-term rentals. The current thinking is something in NY (Catskills.) So I am in search for our first investment property. We imagine this property will become an airbnb /short term rental property that would at a minimum cover the costs of its own mortgage.

I watch all the BP YouTube content and figured I would start looking in the forums for like-minded people in the markets I am looking to be in. Maybe we can connect sometime via email or something. Thanks. Justin

Handyman for sure but might get a house needing renovation so thought of that first.

home inspector would add to the list as well

Hi Everyone. I am looking to see if anyone out there would have recommendations for hiring in the Catskills area of New York state.  I am a first-time investor looking to get my first property. Before I do so I would like to build up a team to know my OPEX costs that I am getting into. I am starting by asking for anyone that is a:

1. Real Estate Attorney

2. General Contractor

3. Cleaners

4. Mortgage Lender

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone. I am a new investor looking into buying my first vacation property. Before I do so I wanted to check with the forum on a question. Will be buying in NY State. Has anyone purchased a property as a 2nd home under their name and then transferred the title after closing to an LLC they created? If yes, can they advise the process name to do so? Did you use a lawyer and they provided the service? What are the approximate costs involved? Are there any other considerations I should know about doing this? Thanks in advance for any advice people can give.

Hi everyone! New to all of this and just in the first few months of learning. I am having doubts of where to get our first airbnb. Don't have a huge budget and like in NJ near NYC so everything is exponentially expensive. Have been thinking a small place in a ski place kind of area. In all likelihood that would mean NY state or PA elk mountain area. But I thought I would ask this community for a first time getting into this.
