@Martha Nowlan thank you - appreciate the insight and I agree 100%.  My idea, though, is to act as the agent on behalf of a specific investor that I have in place.  I'm wondering how to best go about finding a sponsoring broker to hold my license while not necessarily acting as an agent for them, but for the one particular investor.  Does that make sense?

@Sandra K Shirah thank you so much for the ideas and encouragement.  I think it is great that you offer the concept of sponsoring licenses for a fee. This is definitely something I will look into and let you know how it goes!

@Sam Shueh greatly appreciate the feedback! You’ve brought up a great idea with the referral agent concept. Do you have experience with that directly? I’m interested in exploring that further. Thank you!

After listening to hundreds of BP episodes, I’ve noticed a lot of interviewees have gotten their RE license in order to make the investment process more efficient by cutting out the agent and directly accessing the MLS at their own will. So, my question goes out to all investors that have gone on to do the same: what was your experience with finding a broker that was willing to sponsor your license strictly as an individual investor as opposed to working as a commercial/residential agent full/part time for their benefit?

@Scott Wolf Haven't come across this one yet. Is it online only? I'm excited to look into it. Thank you!

Hey BP friends!

I got pulled into the BP vortex last month; I became an avid listener of the podcasts and knew immediately that I had to be involved in the community.

At this point, I’m searching for the best means of obtaining my real estate license in NYC. Google is great and all, but knowing I have access to the pros right here, I figured I’d be foolish not to ask what you all think. So, to anyone that has taken the NY exam, I'd love to know what your thoughts are on the best course of action: specific programs/schools, online/in person, etc.

READY, SET, GO! ;)

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Justina
