@Jake Simon Did you ever find a bank in Ohio that would provide a HELOC on an investment property? On a similar search now for our Columbus, OH, and have been using BP threads as resources but most are rated poorly to start. Thanks!

Thank you @Larkin Adey. I understand the "just do it" attitude (heck, we all know it through Nike!) and agree that at some point you just have to jump in and go for it, but I really appreciate your advice of buying on my own terms when I'm comfortable and ready!

@Alex Olson, simple is good! Will try not to over analyze too much.

That's awesome @Debbie J. Skora! I have a friend who has a similar story with how they stumbled upon a listing agent that doubled as a property manager and had an established team already. Definitely sounds like it would make things run smoothly :) Very cool to hear about your out of country experience!

@Lee Ripma thanks so much for your insight!

You mention that you need to know where your property is before you can get a PM, is there ever a scenario where you find yourself in the opposite situation? An example I can think of is you've found a PM that you like to work with, but they don't operate in the area that a potential investment property is located. Do you just go through the steps of finding a different PM?

Appreciate the advice @Brian G.! Sounds like vetting property managers will be my next step.

Thanks @Jonathan Greene. Fortunately I lived in and still have family in Columbus (part of the reason I've settled on that market), so I'll be sure to meet up with prospective property managers, contractors, etc. the next time I visit!

Thanks for the insight @Mike B.! Really helpful to get someone else's take on how to go about building your team. Will definitely reach out; thanks for extending the offer!
