Hi BP community, I am trying to understand the quoting below for changing out a windows for a property in Oakland. Here is what one of the contractor quoted me below. Is this fair? Thanks! Two (2) pair of double hung window, window has 1 pane on top and 1 pane on bottom. Glass are single glazed (non-insulated). Primed both side. Size: 24” X 36”. Cost for double hung windows $370.00 per pairs. One (1) fixed casement window, window has 1 pane. Glass are single glazed (non-insulated). Primed both side. Size: 31” X 36”. Cost $240.00. Two (1) lower double hung window, window has 1 pane. Glass are single glazed (non-insulated). Primed both side. Size: 31” X 27”. Cost for lower double hung windows $240.00 each. One (1) fixed casement window, window has 1 pane. Glass are single glazed (non-insulated). Primed both side. Size: 29 ½” X 34”. Cost $240.00. Subtotal $1,700.00 Tax $153.00 Total $1,853.00 Installation $700.00 Grand Total $2,553.00 Our policy requires a 50% deposit at the time the order is placed. Total cost to installation above windows is $700.00. Installation is for insert only, which does not include other services; such as sanding, painting and repairing the window sill or frame. But if it necessary to repairs or touch up any damage that I cause. All of our warranty on all sash is good for 3 year. Does not include breakage.
