Thanks all, for making newbies feel welcome. However I'm discovering a common thread. New Chicago investors do well to know the laws and regulations that accompany buying and managing 2&3 flats. Can some of you expound on these precautions and potential roadblocks? Don't forget to include your advice and answers you've experienced to work for you.

cheers

I'll make sure to talk to a few landlords.
AND check out laws governing tenant/landlords rights. Meantime, I guess it wouldn't hurt to check out some surrounding counties also. I've owned property in New Orleans and did rather well, but recently sold out to re-locate here for family reasons. Thanks for making me feel welcome .......

[b]Good to be here and look forward to gleaming much smart RE advice. Recently re-located to Chicago with a bit of cash and will begin investing as soon as I find multi's with the right numbers. Easier said then done right? Currently looking for the right ( local )broker to help me get started. .
