How is the quality of the renters from this site? I have used AirBnb for my place and it’s great because I can lock o at the reviews before renting to them. From what I understand,CHBO just does most of the advertising. Can you describe in a bit more detail how your experience has been with them? Thanks!

@Jack Butala Thanks! I'm looking forward to digging into the site a bit more. I listen to the podcast everyday on my way to and from work and have started following a few forums and setting up key word alerts. Are you happy you went Pro? I have been thinking about it but recently heard about RICH which was recommended by Bigger Pockets but specifically for my area in Houston.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

@John Broussard I have joined a couple meetups (haven't been to any yet) but there are SO MANY. Do you recommend any that you know to be particularly informative or great for networking?

Hi Everyone! My name is Julia Pecina. I'm a new member to Bigger Pockets and it's taken my years of interest in real estate into a new obsession! I have been reading posts and listening to podcasts everyday since signing up. I'm currently invested, with other partners, on a small commercial building in downtown Houston that needs a lot of renovations done to it (exciting first investment!). I hope to get into more buy-and-hold properties by the end of the year and would love to take part in flips once I have established a solid portfolio. I grew up in the expensive LA market so I look forward to all the possibilities Houston, TX has to offer! I look forward to networking with many of you at meetups and in the forums!

After listening to Leon Yang's podcast, I realized that I need to start researching the history of my Houston market since I have only lived here for a couple years. What is the best way to figure out the cycles and trends of your city's market?
