I would also be interested in attending a meetup in Orlando. Please put me down for any future dates.
Taxes are already collected as well as all the appropriate licenses both state and county.

I get flat sheets fitted and pillowcases at amazon. I use the microfiber ones. Cleaning supplies at costco and towels at walmart. I get a ton of people that take sheets and towels so I am constantly replacing them.
Short term rentals are much more complicated to manage. On occasion they can be more lucrative than long term rentals but they require more work such as scheduling cleaning maintenance repairs maintaining a good list of contractors that can work on emergency details like electricians AC plumbers etc. Making sure you are have all the right licenses and permits required. There are a lot of illegal rentals out on the markets and they should be more regulated because a lot of customers get turned away from renting from having a bad experience with a rental which shouldn’t be on the market.

I’m in the Orlando market for short term rentals. It’s been great so far. The regulations are not strict but you have to make sure your hoa allows it if not it can be a pain if you can’t make it work with long term tenants

I would make sure your vacation rental is allowed by the owner, the building as wells as the city. Subletting properties can be very lucrative but you can and you will run into a lot of trouble in the long run if they are not allowed. Best of luck

I have never heard anyone using them but I would love to hear some feedback on how they actually manage vacation rentals.

I prefer pools. They tend to attract more families in more cases which cause fewer issues with neighbors. It really depends on the areas you are looking to rent but I shoot for hosting the highest percentage of families I can on my short term rentals.

I would like to attend one of these meet ups let me know if you will be organizing a new one. I can help you organize it as well. @Thomas Anderson

I own and manage vacation rentals in Orlando. If you manage your pricing actively we have an average of 25.5 days a month rented on the nicer looking properties and as low as 23 days a month on the low end. Keep in mind we are in Orlando which is a market with high demand for short term rentals. Our cleaning is around $700 per month per property but that is paid by the guests.
