I have recently began my hunt for my first rental property. I found some new construction in north Florida that has really caught my interest and the numbers work! My only concern is that it is wood frame construction. Is this okay? Or should I only look for concrete homes?
Heres what the specs of the home say from the builder:
- Professionally engineered wood frame construction per plan
- Engineered steel tie-down rods on all exterior and interior load bearing walls for hurricane wind resistance
- Quality assurance orientation at framing and pre-closing stages.
Is this something I should be concerned about? How many of you own wood frame rentals in Florida? What problems can I expect?
