Wow, it's strange how I'm actually participating in a forum instead of just lurking. Already more rewarding.

In April I was pretty much just a career student with no academic answer to how to make it in the real world.

After a couple months on this site I realized I could actually really use the advice from this forum (as opposed to the crap from the college lecture halls). I already knew tons of local people in real estate investing and also CPA's, attorneys, bankers, that would assist me financially and show me the ropes. Funny thing is I could have done this years ago (I'm 25) I just had never asked for help before! Turns out people are generally willing to help you out as long as you have a good deal ready.

I pretty much started with nothing but enthusiasm, this website, and a network.
My first properties were two 3bed/2bath duplexes that a family friend sold at a great deal. That was good but I'm leaning towards taking advantage of local foreclosures now.

It's honestly been a blur. Going from lazy career student sloth to this is still a shock to the system.

I think I'm just at the right place at the right time, with a great network of people who just needed to be organized. The BP forums just prepared me to let me look like I know what I'm doing.

Hello everybody.

I've been a lurker on this site for a couple of months. I pretty much just stumbled upon it after being frustrated about what to do post-graduation from college. Glad I did!

Since then I've started my own little investment company and have 4 residential rentals and 1 commercial rental. It hasn't been easy, but I refer to this site all the time.

This business is not easy (sure as hell not anything like college), but with all the pro's here it made getting started as a buy and hold landlord much easier.

Thank you all!
