Thanks Raymond, got the right forum this time!

Jason, I miss Arizona, especially this time of year, I lived in Ahwatukee for 4 years, right before the bubble burst, and miss the 364 cloudless sunny days a year!

Thanks Will. I plan on sticking around for a while, hopefully I'll be able to help others one day when they are getting started, my first tip will be to hit this website and don't move until you read for a solid three days.

Brian, thank you for the encouragement. I'm hoping to go full speed once my student loans are paid off... They are the one thing preventing me from getting the financing I need right now.

Karin, thank you so much for the advice, I will hopefully see you at a meeting sometime soon!

Hello all my name is Jason Smith. I am brand new to the game, but have some experience in tenants and construction.

I am really excited to get into flipping, but think I will try my hand at some rental properties first to get started. I say this because I am not quite ready, or able to devote the time needed to be active in flipping, as I hope to do much of the work myself. With a rental I can take enough time off work to get it ready to rent, and put out fires as needed. Hopefully I'll build enough equity in the coming years to take the plunge and give real estate my undivided attention!

I live in southwestern Connecticut, and would love to start networking with active people in my area. This site has been an amazing resource, and cannot wait to become immersed in the BP community!

That is an awfully large area. I live in Fairfield county, and the county may as well be 5 different worlds. Most places if they have a 3-4 family unit will be in the big cities such as new haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk, maybe Stamford. Budget and accessibility are your factors here. I'm not sure about NY, but with some more info I may be able to point you in the right direction.
