Post: Business credit with no personal credit. Help!!

I turned 18 years old in June of 2023 and immediately applied for a credit card. I got a secured credit card with a line of 300$ to build my score. This being said, I still don't have a personal credit score (and wont until after January 2024) but I need business credit to fund furnishing.

1.) Is it possible to get approved for a business credit card without a personal credit score?

2.) If possible, would the credit line on the business card have to be secured with a deposit or be restricted to a small limit that wouldn't cover furnishing expenses?

3.) I am new to everything credit so any other tips are greatly appreciated!

Like James Brown soul brother #176284 says, don't be a drop out. I would get that college degree first.

What college degree is worth 100k in debt and is absolutely necessary in real estate??

Of course you're right...there are no degrees that are necessary in Real Estate. None. Of course there are some that will help you in the journey, but none are necessary. And none are worth $100k.

You can get the knowledge you need much quicker by just diving in. Get a RE job, and a construction job, even part-time will teach you more than any school ever can.

I think you're on the right track - if your passion and goal is to be a RE investor, then you're wasting your time with school. Not only the money but the time. That is irreplaceable....

I completely agree with you here. what are some RE jobs to dive right in for beginners, are you talking wholesaling, property management, possibly becoming an agent?

Congrats on deciding to start real estate at such a young age! I would highly suggest you get in a group of mentors that can guide and help you learn what ever strategy you would like to do. If you have the means and are willing to spend some money, there are several good groups in the STR world that can help you get the push over the beginner stage. Let me know if you would like some names and contact info!

I would love names and contact info, thanks!

I just graduated high school, class of 2023, and I chose to get into real estate instead of commit to a college degree. I live about an hour east out of Pittsburgh. Being so young (literally just turned 18) I don't have a lot of steady income and don't even have a credit score yet, although building good credit, making it very difficult to try and buy a property at the moment.

I plan to open an LLC to arbitrage properties and list onto airbnb. This keeps a very low out of pocket expense and is professional because I would be renting as a business not as an individual in order to sublease onto airbnb. I'm aware of all the legal documents and contracts needed to be completely transparent with landlords so that they know exactly what I'm doing with their property.

I am stuck on what market to start in and how far away I would be able to be from the first property. I plan to self manage the listing and outsource cleaners from care.com/other freelance platforms.

Any advice is helpful and appreciated.
