Thanks! And do you happen to know anything about listing a registered agent if we are out of state? Our property mgmt company won't do it for liability reasons, and not sure what other options we have...

Are there any tax experts local to Missouri (I own an investment property in the KC area) that would be willing to chat with me about potential double taxation while operating as a foreign entity? My LLC is in NC, and wondering if I run the risk of paying more by registering w the state and quit claiming the property into the LLC.

Just moved to Charlotte and our home needs a lot of work. Would appreciate recommendations on the following:

* General Contractors

* Roofers

* Landscaping

* Tree trimming/removal

* Gutters/Grading/Drainage

* Pool/Spa inspections, cleaning and maintenance

* Mold/Fungi treatment in crawlspace

* Exterior Painters

* Window/Glass/Door companies

* Fence company

Big projects we are looking to do:

* Kitchen remodel

* Bathroom remodel

* Backyard renovations (pending pool inspection)

* Painting exterior

* Fixing wood rot, broken seals on doors and windows

* Changing light fixtures and/or adding recessed lighting

Please drop whatever contacts you can, bc this community has never steered me wrong before! If you’re a contractor, please shoot me a note. Would love to get in contact and set up a walkthrough while we source bids.

Thanks both! I will send out some emails to see if anyone is able to assist

Hello,

My wife and I just closed in our first investment property in Blue Springs MO. We are based in NC and have a local LLC. We need assistance with three questions:

1. Do we need to register as a foreign entity in MO?

2. Can my lawyer from NC perform a quit claim, or is it better to have local council assist to navigate state specific laws?

3. Is a lawyer required to draft lease terms or are we ok using boiler plate?

Would also love to connect w a lawyer in the KC area if anyone is willing to help!

Best

Josh

Thanks all. I have decided to file for our LLC in NC, given it will be our home base and I expect we will expand our investments locally. It sounds like I will have to register as a foreign entity in TX/MO in order to operate in the state and get the same liability coverage

My wife and I are in the process of doing the following things:

1. Buying an investment property in Kansas City, MO

2. Buying a new primary home in Charlotte, NC

3. Prepping our current home in Austin, TX to be a rental

We want to form an LLC, then quit claim the deeds for 1 and 3 into it (unsure on what to do w 2, but would love advice).

My question to all the experts out there is what state(s) should we be filing an LLC in? Our current plan is to file in NC, but my lawyer said I need to find local council in each state to quit claim the homes. Does that sound right?

Also are there any specific benefits from filing in another state like Delaware or Nevada? Seems like that’s what the smart people are doing. Want to be tax savvy wherever possible!

Noob questions so really looking for some guidance. Thanks

I want to get started in short term rentals and specifically AirBnB arbitrage. My fear is around the liability if I have to personally guarantee leases for a new LLC. Does anyone have advice on 1. If we have to personally guarantee? And 2. How do you manage the risk of that's the only way to get started?
