So how long do you think we will see this market for Luka?

Do you think as a result of this we will see more demand in rental housing?

And if so wouldn’t this lead to landlords charging higher rents?

Am I thinking of this too simplistically? Or when do the price increases end?

Yeah I see what you mean Evan. I think I may just be overestimating how much housing prices may go down if rates go up. As I said before I’m new to the investing space so I’m still learning! Lol

Interesting perspective Cathryn! Yeah maybe I’m just over reacting to the whole situation. I’m definitely not advising to try and time a crash or anything, but I’m just stating that I don’t think that this market is sustainable. Maybe I am overestimating how much values would go down if rates went up.

I see where you are coming from for sure. Housing in my market has gone for $100,000 over asking in some areas! I’m not sure if it’s a bubble or not but one thing I’m certain of is that there is no way these market conditions can last long-term. I’m not sure if it is sustainable. What I’m worried about is the people over paying now that want to move in 7-8 years and maybe there property values have gone down due to higher interest rates.

Do you think this will be an issue? Or do you think low interest rates and higher values are here to stay?

Yeah I see where you are coming from. I think that investors should keep investing no matter what. It’s practically impossible to time the market and I think real estate is a good hedge against a volatile market. As long as you’re not over-concentrated and over-leveraged of course!

Yeah it’s crazy to think that you’re practically taking out a mortgage to pay for school nowadays!

My girlfriends cousin has $300,000 in student loans. Craziness!
