Hey there! Official welcome to Biggerpockets!! As you have seen, this site is a virtual goldmine of information and connections. You should totally follow Darren Sager as he hosts meetups for us New Yorkers. I haven’t gone as far as you have but I recently bought my first property (duplex) thanks to the motivation given by the meetups. Hope to see you around and happy investing!

Hey BP nation!  Forgive me if this is in the wrong section but I had a question about a garage I wanted to demo because it it leaning dangerously to the side.  

When I replace it, is it recommended that I replace with the same type or look of the garage I am demolishing?

It’s an old fashioned wooden barn style garage.

I haven’t owned a property long enough to start revisiting rehabs but these stories are gold!  Thank you everyone for sharing and I definitely won’t cut corners to save a few bucks.

My first tenant is on social services (Inherited) and the relationship is working out but I would be curious to know the procedure as well.  I was thinking a simple letter notifying of increase would be enough if all rules were followed while delivering it but never hurts to make sure.

I had just bought my first property(Duplex) in November and the first thing I did when getting the insurance was adding a 1M umbrella to it.  

After all the reading and research I have done and hearing stories of what could happen when it comes to lawsuits, it was a no brainer for me!

I also plan on limiting equity exposure too, as was already stated. What good is  equity if you never use it, right??

It definitely gives me peace of mind.

David Krainert Hey I started the same way where I lurked for a good while before finally pulling the trigger this past November. It’s awesome that you already got started.
