Hello everyone! My name is Josh Dunn and I am finally taking the full leap into Realestate investing!
I am married to a beautiful wife of soon to be 7 years and we have an incredible son who will be 4 in April (FYI - we actually share the same birthday)
I am currently in the soft tissue/rehab world (people not houses) and work at a chiropractic office.
I am honestly getting into Realestate investing to achieve TRUE financial freedom for me and my family. I am tired of only getting paid when I work and I am truly done with feeling the heavy heart of not wanting to take our son to the doctor because of how much it costs.
As for which type of Realestate I will venturing into, I am still not quite sure. I originally wanted to go straight into apartment complexes but feel like I may need to get feet wet before going into something that may be a little much to start with. I think I am going to start in flipping and single family rentals. I think I will then get into short-term rentals then to feed into long-term rentals. And WAY later down the road, I want to get into commercial. Has anyone else had these same ambitions? What are your thoughts? (truly want to hear)
I can be very intense and passionate when it comes to putting all my energy and effort into things (Just bought David Greene's book, got "Rental property investing" by Brandon, became a Pro member, and already starting to practice running numbers with the BP calculator all within 3 days).
My action steps (things you may all PLEASE hold me accountable for) are to:
- Be known on the forums (I will ask many questions)
- Run at least 100 deals in the calculator for practice by March 1st, 2020.
- Purchase my first property by June 1, 2020
THANK YOU! Thank you for all who introduce themselves and making me feel welcome. Thank you to BP for putting a place this together and for all the incredible content! Did I mention....thank you?
My question to all those who wish to say hello:
- If you could go back to the beginning and do it again, how would you do it differently?
- What resources helped you out MOST? (podcasts, books, mentors, meetups ,etc)
- What would be something you would say to someone just starting out, to light to fire under the rear to motivate them to not quit and jump all in?
I am truly thankful for this place and for all the people I will be connecting with in the future!
