Christopher - Would the State Tax collect $800 from the parent company or from each series in operation? I believe the Series LLC would be filed as one separate return.

Scott - Thank you for the the information, I will be looking into the Delaware Statutory Trust. Also, yes I do reside in CA however the LLC would be out of NV with the Registered Agent in NV. Would this change anything?

I am relatively new to REI and new to posting on BiggerPockets. I currently own 3 SFR in TN and am focusing on asset protection before I invest in more. Currently the SFRs our under an umbrella policy but I would like to move them over to a series LLC. I would like to know if anyone in CA (preferably in Southern California), utilizes a series LLC for asset protection. Also, any input from tax attorneys or CPAs in the Los Angeles area that have deal with series LLC would be awesome! Thanks!

Hendrick,

Were you able to obtain anymore information regarding a series LLC? I recently opened a series LLC in Nevada and am running into a few potential issues. Did you end up contacting an attorney? Thanks!
