Post: Does the 203k loan cover purchase and repair?

@Kyle J. It does cover both. The costs for repair are held in escrow until the contractor (you'll want one that understands the 203k process) completes the work and you sign off on it. Great program, but is not fast, things can take awhile to get processed. I did it for the house in which I currently live.
