@Jeff Rappaport, @Jared Christian,

What would be the best way to stay informed about more upcoming monthly meetings? Is there an email list I could get on, or would signing up for notifications from this forum be the best option? I did notice that there are a couple other forums: Utah Meetup?, Investor Meetup in Utah, and Utah Investor Meetup. Is this forum (Meetup in Utah) the most active?

Thanks

Hey All! As part of a student competition I'm putting together a development pro-forma for a 400+ lot subdivision. I'm struggling with a few of the financial concepts (particularly, lending aspects) and was wondering if someone with experience in that area might be willing to provide me with some direction.

Thanks!

Thanks, @Scott Trench! I've already skimmed the first little bit of that Guide to Finding Incredible Mentors and look forward to really going through it! Definitely appreciate the time you put into sharing that.

I am a soon-to-be college graduate starting out in the real estate industry in Utah. I have a little bit of an interesting background. Because of previous goals and ambitions my experience thus far consists of employment in the architecture industry and a construction/business management education. When I was introduced to the the real estate industry and some of the fundamentals of real estate, I quickly became hooked. Now, I have shifted gears in my education and am pursuing a career in real estate. Everything I have learned about real estate thus far has been self taught: reading, talking to professionals, getting involved with industry associations, listening to the BP podcast, and I'm currently working on getting my real estate license. Realizing I needed to get experience outside of academia, I recently accepted a position as an acquisitions analyst for a residential home builder. I am passionate about this industry and desirous to get involved. I have recognized that, for me personally, the RE industry provides a unique blend of technical science, creativity, and ingenuity.

Next fall, I'll be starting right back up with school again as I pursue a master's degree in Real Estate Development. Currently, I am in search of a mentor. I wouldn't have realized that I love RE so much in the first pace if it wasn't for a supervisor who steered me in the right direction. I'm looking forward to following (and ultimately contributing to) the BP community!
