@Jonathan Klemm As of right now, I'm not set on a location. I just wanted to put some feelers out there to see how plausible it is and if there are any educational resources I could invest some time in before deciding to pursue this as an option. I've gotten my feet wet with residential real estate investing, and have had success with typical House Hacking, so would love to be able to apply this strategy to a potential business one day to help manage monthly overhead.

I had never considered the potential of the mixed space and the 3.5% FHA. So, that's a great idea that wasn't even on my radar.

Hey community, I was just curious if anyone has applied the house hacking strategy to their business with commercial real estate. Are there any BP podcasts where this is explored? Thanks!

Thank you @John Warren and @Mindy Jensen for the responses!

I will be sure to reach out to these individuals, thank you John!

And Mindy, I am preferably looking to be in the northern neighborhoods - Lakeview up to Roger's Park and everywhere in between. Ideally, I'd like to find something close to the Red Line, but could make neighborhoods off of the brown and purple lines work as well.

Hello everyone, long time listener, first time poster! After a year of listening to Scott and Mindy on the 'money' podcast after the great recommendation from my little brother, I have finally gotten over the mental hurdle and decided I want to commit to this house hacking strategy and would love to purchase my first property before the end of 2020.

I live in Chicago, IL and work as a chiropractor. My student loans are fairly significant, and I would love to implement the House Hacking / Flipping strategy to minimize my spending in this expensive city. Ideally, I'd love to find something in the northern neighborhoods close to an 'L' station. 3-4 bedrooms, specifically.

Any tips or suggestions from anyone, especially those in the Chicago area as I start this journey would be much appreciated! I've got of questions and would love any help this community has to offer.

Thanks in advance!

Joe C.
