We're going to have 3 individuals share their story of how they pursued and purchased their first STR. These are not stories of Real Estate Gurus, huge portfolio owners, or "experts". They're common individuals with an uncommon drive to simply make a decision and take action.

If you need some simple motivation or have unanswered questions, listen to this group speak.  We're also having a real estate agent who will speak as to what you can look for in an agent, market, and deal.

Maybe most importantly, we are going to answer your questions.  Nothing is too basic.  This is designed to have you learn and not be intimidated.

As you all know, the BiggerPockets community is a great resource of information for everything Real Estate, especially for those new to investing.  I have learned so much from the forums and have also shared my insights and journey to others.  

Since so many have reached out regarding Short Term rentals and our path, I wanted to try and touch as many people as possible with a web call that can offer some guidance to those who are new to real estate, but particularly interested in Short Term Rentals (STR) and how to get started.

This will be a FREE VIRTUAL event and the agenda will look like:

• Introduction - Our story and how we got started 
• Guests Presenters - Several who have recently purchased their first property and how they got started
• Realtor - Advice on navigating the buying process
• Q & A - Full hour of your Questions and Answers

I've been answering questions for individuals over the past several months and felt like an informational to the masses would be beneficial and show others that buying your first STR can be done!

Nice and congrats!  We've got a few in Wolf Laurel and love the area.  I think I may have even looked at your property!  Curious of you do other investing in Western NC.

Sounds like you're looking to venture into my area!  I live in Raleigh but invest in STRs in Western NC (Mars Hill & Burnsville) .  As others have said, read the forums for info and education, but find others in the area and begin networking.  Some great people out west.  Happy to connect and give you my thoughts.

I'll vouch for @Ryan Howell as he's helped me buy a couple in Western NC although mine are north of Asheville (for now).  Also helped others I know buy in other areas out there.  Happy to share our stories !

Welcome!  Always cool to see others in NC.  I'm in Raleigh, but have a few STRs in Western NC and just recently closed on our first one on the NC coast.  Happy to swap stories and grow each other's networks,

Timing of your post is ironic.  I have been investing in STRs fir a little over 3 years, but just recently took up fly fishing!  Took a float trip with a buddy and was hooked.  Got a 2 day Intro lesson through Orvis on the Eagle River in CO and a frined and I just fished this week in Western NC where my cabins are located.  I was already scouting some cool cabin properties right on the rivers we fished and thought it was a good draw to those looking to escape and get some fishing in.
