@Percy N. where in Chester county specifically do you have properties if you feel comfortable sharing? I ask because I am looking at purchasing property in Chester county as well and am trying to get a stronger bearing on what areas to avoid etc. Do you feel the yield justifies some of the headaches you get in the lower price range?

@Chris K. Thanks for the tips Chris! I am originally from the Poconos, fairly close to wiles-barre actually. Just moved down to the Philadelphia area about a year  and a half ago. I am excited at all of the potential I see in the greater Philly area.

@Account Closed Hey Matt! I agree, RE Investing is an exciting opportunity. I work in the financial markets industry so I have plenty of experience with stocks/bonds and am now looking to diversify into RE.

Ideally I am looking for a multi family property in an up and coming area that I can house hack and live in for at least a year. I am interested in rehabbing the property as well as I enjoy the prospect of fixing a place up in order to add value over time. For my first property I want to get a tenant to fill the other unit(s) full time.

I would like to reach out and hear more about your experience in the greater Philadelphia area. Even though I am early on in my journey, I am looking for a like minded real estate agent to aid in my search for my first investment property. The first of many more to come!

@Percy N. @Steve Babiak Thank you both for the DIG info I will definitely be looking into it!

@andrew

@Andrew Syrios Good to be here!

@Antonio Artusa I'm glad you have found a suitable group of tenants. There won't be any shortage of college students in that area!

@Alonna Johnson BP has been a gold mine thus far! Are you house hacking your duplex as well? How has that been overall?

@Veronica Woods I agree that nailing down that criteria can be tricky. Price and location are the easiest for me to figure out thus far. What I am looking for is help with figuring out which areas around me have a large enough inventory to choose from.

Wow I am overwhelmed by the amount of friendly responses I've received thus far. I know I've made the right choice by making my profile on this site.

@Account Closed I will take you up on that offer! I want to reach out to hear more about your house hacking experience and more about your services as an agent as well.

@Dave Van Horn Nice to hear from a local! I've been in this area coming up on 2 years after graduating college and it's been fantastic. I also see a lot of potential now that I am beginning to look at my surroundings through an investors eyes.

Thank you for the DIG recommendation. I will definitely be looking into their local events! I think it'll be a great opportunity to network and pick the minds of those more experienced than myself. I have no shame asking questions and learning from others. I look forward to seeing you at an event some time soon. All the best.

@Scott Landau Thank you for the offer, I will definitely be reaching out in the near future as soon as my hectic work schedule permits me some time to make a call.

@Account Closed Hey Lana! Do you have any RE Investing experience in the Philadelphia area? If so I would love to hear about it!

@Richard Jahnle Thanks for the warm welcome! If you don't mind I may reach out and PM to learn a little more about how your first house-hacking experience went as I am seriously considering a duplex!

@Dave Visaya I'll be sure to check that out!

@Antonio Artusa What areas of Philly do you target? I personally am very interested in the Conshy/Roxboro areas on the outskirts of the city. Do you have any experience within these areas?
