Post: Contacting Owners For Purchase??

This may be a stupid question, so I apologize if it is..

I'm a new aspiring wholesaler in central Ohio. I finally decided to apply what I've been learning about, gassed up, and got to to know a neighborhood a little better. In the process, I found a few houses that could very likely be good for investing. After locating a few properties, I used the county auditor to locate the owners. And that is where I'm stuck...

Do I contact the owner through the snail mail address that is listed? Do I go further and find a phone number through Intelius or some other way (if there is a  listed one)? Either way, what do I say to get their attention in a positive way?

I'm still in the process of learning and getting ready to kickstart this awesome venture into wholesaling. In this process, I've discovered that there are two REIAs in my area (that I am aware of)... COREE and CPIA. It appears that CPIA isn't currently having any meetings, while COREE meetings are held on the only evening that I can't ever make it. So I have two questions...

1) If my goal is to network with as many people as possible and the REIAs aren't working out, how else can I meet and learn from other individuals in my area?

2) Are there any other REIAs in central Ohio?

Hey everyone! So I have been running a successful personal training business for about half of a decade, and have recently decided that I'd like to start another business, this time in real estate. I've been doing some "light reading" for a while, but have found excuses to not take the dive. Well, I'm ready to jump in... BUT I have no idea of what I'm doing or how to get started in wholesaling! So what do I do - especially with limited cash for now??

Do I need to start a team? How do I find properties? Where do I get contracts? How do I negotiate? How do I market myself? Will I think of more questions as soon as I post this??? Help!
