Hey All, thanks for the advice!

I couldn't agree more that the Bay is not a good place to invest for someone like me. However, it has been good. This is my situation:

1. My Condo being rented was bought for 235K, being rented for about 7K/year cash flow. Prices have sky rocketed and the property is worth 475K. It was a good buy.

2. Used 30K HELOC to buy a second place in the Bay for 442K. A year after we bought it, prices went up to about 520K.

3. We are tapped out as far as being able to afford anything else around here. Anyone have any suggestions on affordable places we can buy outside of CA? What areas do you like for Buy and Hold?

Hey All,

My name is Jonathan. I am born and raised in the Bay Area. My wife is a teacher and I am a Trainer/Teacher. As long as I was in grade school, I can remember being interested in real estate. My dad and mom were blue collar workers with 5 children, trying to support us, so my dad did flips before "flipping" was even popular.

I currently have two Bay Area properties (thank God for the crash, as we are both middle class), one of which I rent. Prices are currently over-inflated in the Bay so I am looking at places to invest outside of the Bay Area/California, mentorship, training, and learning to get that 3rd, 4th, etc. place. . I am extremely interested in Buying and Holding, with the hopes of building a nest egg.

Anyone have any advice for a new investor wanting to build a nest egg for my family (wife and two little girls I adore) please let me know. I love being around people smarter than me!

Kindest Regards,

Jonathan

Hey All, I am new to the game and currently have two properties in San Jose, Ca, a hoooot real estate market. I reside here and am looking to step it up and buy a third property out of state (San Jose prices have gotten way too high). It would be a long term rental (thinking retirement). Question: what are some of the property mgmt. companies in KC and do you know their cut percentages? Can someone recommend? Looking to connect with a KC mentor. Help appreciated.
