My company has invested in many properties in the DFW area. I would say that the lack of a garage is definitely a factor that prospective tenants look at because of the hail that occurs frequently. A nice carport can help alleviate that but all being said I do not think it should be a deal breaker but you should expect to see a slight discount in rent and demand versus other comps with 2 car garages. Another related item is storage for the home. If it is large or there is a shed then it is less of an issue but people often use the garage for storage as well

Hello, my company currently owns and manages 250 Single Family Rental Homes in the DFW metroplex. We have acquired these homes over the past 2 years and are now stabilized but are looking to bring someone on full time to help with preventative maintenance as well as requests from our residents.
