I picked up a rental that needs to be re-wired by a licensed electrician in order to be insured. I have 1 quote for 10k which is too much. Still looking for insurers. One option is to get coverage without fire coverage and have an un-licensed electrician do the work for cheaper, but not sure what the downstream ramifications will be. Any advice will be appreciated.
